Progress log and forecast
The log stores weight and girth measurements, shows the trend and, when there is enough data, forecasts the date the target weight is reached — with an honest caveat when data is scarce.
What is recorded
Weight and girths: waist, chest, arm, hips, thigh. Values are checked against limits so that a typo cannot turn into "progress". Measurements are tied to a date, so the chart is built over time rather than entry order.
How the trend is calculated
The trend is a straight line fitted to your weigh-ins by least squares: the slope shows the actual rate and the coefficient of determination shows how evenly the points fall. A steady trend and a jagged chart look the same only to the eye; here they are different numbers.
When no forecast is built
- there are too few weigh-ins — instead of a date the page explains that a few more points are needed;
- the scatter is large — the forecast comes with a warning that the date is rough;
- the calculation is blocked in the profile (for example, under 18) — no forecast is built at all;
- movement against the goal (the goal is weight loss while the trend rises) is stated directly rather than smoothed over.
Goal and portability
The target weight is stored in the profile with the rest of the settings. Two things follow: the goal is included in the backup and never leaks into a share link (only a whitelist of fields goes there). The section prints without menus or buttons.
